Benefits of Rolfing

Everyone* can benefit from Rolfing. People come to Rolfing for a wide variety of reasons. Many of the most common complaints such as back pain, repetitive strain injury, lack of mobility, headaches and general lack of energy are often the result of poor structural organisation and respond very well to Rolfing. Whilst some people come to Rolfing just because they “don’t feel right”

People receiving help with mental well-being: Those who are in the process of resolving past trauma or are working to improve emotional or self-esteem issues have found Rolfing an effective way to provide support and meaning for their process.

Fit People: More and more sports people and athletes are using Rolfing to compliment and enhance their training regime and to speed recovery from injury or prevent injury happening in the first place.

*There are a few medical conditions where Rolfing is not recommended and you should check with your doctor before receiving treatment if you are in doubt.  However, these include: If you are currently diagnosed with Cancer and are undergoing treatment or within 5 years of remission. Are suffering from a Connective tissue disorder (eg Lupus, scleroderma or Rheumatoid arthritis). If you are pregnant (particularly the first three months). If you have an acute injury (it is best not to work on inflamed tissue). If taking medications that affect the quality of the fascia such as Cortisone – if in doubt please check with your GP first.
