About
My interest in working with the body started following my career as a nurse working on renal wards at various different hospitals in London for ten years. I decided I needed to do something different. I found a book at a local fete called the Body Electric by Robert O Becker. This book mentioned Craniosacral Therapy, which I thought sounded interesting and I then started my training in Upledger Craniosacral Therapy with Upledger UK.
Having practiced Craniosacral Therapy for some time, I realised that some clients needed stronger interventions and so I found and embarked upon a BSc degree in Therapeutic Bodywork at the University of Westminster in London and it was here that I had my first encounter with Structural Integration, as my course leader was a Hellerwork practitioner. I liked that way of working and upon graduation, I began looking for courses. I did look at Rolfing, but at the time, the training was too far away and Tom Myers was teaching in Oxfordshire, so I applied for that course and graduated as a KMI Practitioner or what is now Anatomy Trains Structural Integration in 2012 and have been in practice ever since. I have never given up my hope of sometime undertaking the Rolfing training and I had this opportunity in March 2025, when I travelled to Munich to undertake the Part 3 training at the European Rolfing Association. I now look forward to offering Rolfing Structural Integration in my practice.
