About Me

I went through my own Rolfing series in 2011 and was amazed by the profound impact it had on me, both in a physical and emotional sense. I began to feel different, more comfortable and aware of my body.

My passion for Rolfing led me to train at BARSI, the London School of Structural Integration. Since qualifying 10 years ago, I have enhanced and deepened my skills through attending various Rolfing workshops, and other trainings including craniosacral therapy and ScarWork.

I am fascinated by how specific life experiences and events can impact the individual’s physical and emotional wellbeing, and how Rolfing can bring lasting and mutually reinforcing improvements to both.

After working as a Rolfer for a number of years I undertook the two-year training in Craniosacral Therapy with Franklyn Sills at the Karuna Institute. I realised that Rolfing was not necessarily for everyone, and that some people may prefer a gentler touch. I now offer both Rolfing and Craniosacral sessions in my practice, or if appropriate, a combination of both.

Similarly I became aware of the number of people that came for Rolfing who also had a scar.  These scars have an impact on the body, in terms of restrictive movement, sensitivity and tightness.  As this has an impact on the body, then the treatment of them became integral to the Rolfing 10 series process.  I also realised that people have very different views of their scars.  Some were upset, others were grateful.  Some scars were numb, and others were painful.  There is always an interesting story to the question “tell me a little about your scar”.  I help people integrate their scar during the Rolfing series.  However, I also offer separate ScarWork sessions or a combination of ScarWork and craniosacral sessions.

I trained in both Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork plus Emma Holly’s Oncology scar practitioner course.   People come for treatment after hip or knee replacements, C-section or breast cancer/reconstruction scars.  The work can be undertaken separately or as part of the Rolfing process.

For Rolfing, clients come to see me with a wide range of problems such as back and sciatica pain, shoulder and neck pain. Others come because they have heard how Rolfing is a way to improve their posture, flexibility and general sense of wellbeing.

I practice from my home garden studio in Plumpton Green, East Sussex, located near Lewes, Haywards Heath and Brighton. There is easy parking and a railway station a few minutes’ walk away.
